Interior Decorating Tips

  Color Me Bad

I have recently shopped for paint at a home improvement store, and I have seen lots of people confused about what color paint to choose. Some had no idea where to start, if the color will make there décor, or some chose a different color for every room. WOW! Here’s some tips to help you when you decide to paint:
1. If you are not sure; pick a neutral color. Picking a neutral color is always safe and can be easily changed later on to something more vibrant.
2. Everything does not have to match exactly. Mix and match your colors. The rule is 60/30/10. 60% of your main color, 30% of your accent color, and 10% of something unexpected.
3. The colors you choose, relates to your personality. I like earth toned colors like the gold/bronze colors on the wheel. These colors gives the feeling of rich and friendly. What’s your personality color? Let me know.

 Staged Performance

The Real Estate market is full of slow moving properties, foreclosures, and lots of inventory. So if you are one of the brave people to have a property on the market, you MUST do everything possible to make it stand out from all the rest. Buyers are looking for a “home”, and it’s makes it hard see their new home in a vacant building. Lots of people buy homes on emotion. Therefore, buyer want to walk in the home that’s decorated nicely and has a good flow. They want to imagine themselves coming home to the staged furniture, and entertaining their friends for a formal dinner party in that fabulous dining room. When you are budgeting for improvements, leave room in the budget to stage the home. If you live in an occupied home, have a professional (Exclusive Home Designs) to come out and help you get the home ready for the market before your potential buyers view the listing. Remember: You only get one chance to make a good, first impression. Stage the home for a better chance for the sale.
